REXBURG, Idaho – Heavy snow has caused an indoor roping arena in Montana and part of a commercial building in Idaho to collapse, but no injuries have been reported.
KIDK-TV reports the Rocky Mountain ATV building in the eastern Idaho city of Rexburg collapsed Tuesday morning, but no one was inside.
The business owner had left to get a soda. The employees of another business in the building, Custom Auto, felt the building shake and ran outside, thinking it was an earthquake. They watched the building collapse.
The auto parts store wasn't damaged. The owners of both businesses believe heavy snowpack caused the collapse.
Meanwhile, the Milk River Pavilion in Malta, Mont., also collapsed under the weight of snow Tuesday.
Phillips County officials say no one was injured, but they believe the county-owned arena is a total loss.
