LOCKPORT, N.Y. – A western New York teenager has been sentenced to 25 years to life for the bludgeoning death of a woman who was supervising him at a group home for troubled youth.
Anthony Allen of Rochester was sentenced Friday in Niagara County Court, where he was convicted of second-degree murder in September. The 19-year-old also was found guilty of robbery and burglary.
Authorities say Allen struck 24-year-old Renee Greco with a table leg as she played cards with residents of the Lockport home. Witnesses said he was covering up the theft of $160 from an office.
A second teen, 18-year-old Robert Thousand, earlier pleaded guilty to manslaughter but wants to withdraw his plea.
Allen read a statement in court Friday, calling Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza a disgrace.
