A Florida woman accused of making threats that triggered a lockdown of one of the nation's largest school districts is planning an insanity defense.

Ellisa Martinez is accused of making threats that locked down Broward County schools in November. Court papers filed Tuesday indicate the 48-year-old Martinez suffered brain injury in a 1997 car accident and has had neurological problems since.

The FBI says Martinez sent conservative talk show host Joyce Kaufman e-mails Nov. 10 warning something big was going to happen, possibly at a school. The e-mail also mentioned gun rights and the Second Amendment. Later, a woman called the station to say her husband was going to shoot up a school.

Martinez pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
