ORLANDO, Fla. – The police chief of Orlando's wealthiest suburb has posted bond after being charged with misconduct.
Authorities say Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor is accused of refusing to investigate allegations of sexual battery of a child because it involved his friend. They say the 44-year-old chief offered at least one officer bribes in exchange for giving officials false testimony.
Authorities say Saylor posted $5,150 in bond Thursday after being charged with one count of giving unlawful compensation for official behavior and one count of official misconduct. Saylor faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted. His attorney, Mark NeJame, says the charges are only accusations at this point.
Windermere is where golfer Tiger Woods had his infamous 2009 car crash.
