Officials tell The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick firefighters will remain on the scene to make sure the blaze doesn't re-ignite.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100-unit Brookside complex in Rahway, about 25 miles west of New York City.

More than 100 firefighters from 13 towns fought the fire in the vacant building.

Arson investigators were at the scene trying to determine the fire's origin and cause.

Rahway Battalion Chief Michael Roberts tells the newspaper one firefighter was treated at a hospital for a minor injury.
