WASHINGTON -- School officials say four elementary students in Washington, D.C., have been taken to a hospital after ingesting cocaine brought to school by a classmate.
School district spokesman Fred Lewis says the students at Thomson Elementary School are all doing well. He says a fifth student who recently had surgery was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
School officials wouldn't immediately give ages for the students or say how the student came into possession of the cocaine. They also did not say how the students ingested the cocaine.
Police are investigating.
